Jason Mould MCPT / Owner of Core Health and Fitness
I am certified by various organizations including NASM, NCCPT, NESTA, IFPA, and NSCA just to name a few. In eleven years I have been certified in countless areas of both fitness and nutrition. Some of my certifications include Master Certified Personal Trainer, Functional Training, Injury specialist, Sports Specific Specialist, Youth Nutrition and Training, Nutrition, Pre and Post Natal Training, Speed and Agility, Special Population Training and even Sports Hypnosis just to name a very few. On top of my various fitness certifications I have taught self defense, been certified as an EMT, trained and certified people in
CPR

and AED, as well as various culinary classes. Currently I am working on my certification to teach Krav Maga the Israeli martial art, I like incorporating my background in martial arts and wrestling into my clients routines. Before and some times during my wrestling career I worked in various kitchens and brought my culinary experience not only to my exercise clients, but I developed a private fitness chef business where I would go to peoples homes and cook for them.
I officially began my personal training career shortly before I retired from professional wrestling and fighting. In my first couple of years I worked on an electrode study and worked predominately with boxers, fighters and wrestlers. I took my first “gym” job with the downtown Syracuse YMCA where I was the only trainer. I had free run to not only implement my own unique style of training, but I was able to go out into the community and lecture on various fitness and nutritional topics. My main job there was not just to train, but to develop and implement new classes and programs. After I left the YMCA I worked for a local personal training studio. It was here where I realized that I wanted my own business. After 8 years in the fitness business I knew what I liked and what I didn’t like. In April of 2007 I started Core Health and Fitness. My goal was to be able to offer the community not only personal training, but fitness education. With my own studio I have been able to go back to my community lectures, and I have gotten to help out the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House with our annual Toys for Training drive. I am working closely with a City church to develop a free program to help disadvantaged women learn about diet and fitness. I love that I am now able to give back a little to the community. In the studio I have currently developed a new program which incorporates my love of Brazilian jiu jitsu, Capoeria, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Krav Maga into an intense and fun workout. In 2008 I was also able to bring in one of my good friends and lifting partners Kerry Nazario to help take the studio to the next level. We quickly implemented an online training program, new classes, and a more educational and user friendly web page. One of the other perks of owning your own facility is to surround yourself with high energy people who motivate me to strive to always raise the bar.
Over my career I have got to work with all kinds of clients including the blind, body builders, fighters, post stroke, post cardiac rehab, cops/fire fighters, athletes, and, autistic to name a few. I have never backed down from any client challenge or life challenge and I love getting clients those unexpected goals like coming off their medications. To date one of my best training accomplishments is I have a blind client who I have not only taken a lot of weight off, but trained her for her first rock climbing experience which we plan on doing later this winter. This was something she always wanted to do and to know I have a huge part in getting her one of her life goals is awesome. Personally I am a father of five great kids, and a husband to a very understanding wife. Keeping my family fit and active is one of my biggest priorities. My kids and wife motivate me the most it is because of them I have been able to achieve what I have. My family is the biggest reason I developed my realistic training approach. In 2010 I have one more run in the wrestling, and I am looking to expand the Core brand.
